Writing Reflection

For the term we did a lot and lots of stuff this term, one of those were similes and metaphors A simile is a figure of speech that directly compares two different things, typically using the words “like” or “as”. and metaphors are a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally real. for example his room is a pigsty.

Orana Park

On Friday the 5 of September we went to Orana Park 9.30 we went on the bus. and then we went to the staff they were Michael and Elizabeth, we were walking to look at the Rhinos but they were not out yet so we looked at the gorillas. They were both boy and also about phones to much people are throwing out there phones because they were cracked or there charger was slow and they are hurting the environment.

Then we went to see the cheaters but they were quite hard to see. Then we went to the Rhinos and they had a Rhinos horn and we got to touch it one Rhinos horn was sharper then the other because it had a baby so it had to be sharp to protect it then we went to the Giraffes and we fed it leaves but don´t drop it because it was hard to get off the stick then we had lunch.

After that we went to see the spider monkeys and they climbed really high the time it escaped! Then we went to see what hurt the kiwis and before we came it was the hast Eagle. Then we actually got to see the kiwis and then the kia and then we went back on the bus and went back to school. Have you ever been to Orana park?

professional trampling Olympic sport

Today we met Maddie from a professional trampoline Olympic sport. She came to our school and then she talked about how she got to where she was right now. The Olympic team had 3 values and they were shown respect, have gratitude and friendship. Once when she had a competition she got stuck in a elavator and she just made it on time. When she went to the Olympics she came 10th in Tokyo and in the 2024 Paris Olympics she came 7th.

Her talk was really good and she taught us that we should follow our dreams.

Personification and similes

This week we did Personification and similes. A simile is a figure of speech that directly compares two different things, typically using the words “like” or “as”.

Personification is personal traits given to something non human for example: the sun was smiling at me. My example in my writng was “my alarm clock was killing my ears”. What is your favourite example of personification?
